‘Sestina fills a much needed gap in the musical life of Northern Ireland; the authentic performance of early music. Public funds for music are largely exhausted by support of the symphonic repertoire. Sestina brings home to us a quality of performance which only those living on London, or one of the big musical centres, usually enjoy. Early music – up to the mid XV111c at any rate, does not translate well into modern idiom and instrumentation. Sestina gives us the real thing.’

Ian & Louise Stoupe (Friends of Sestina)

I founded the Friends of Sestina and became its first subscriber because young artists need support both financially and practically. Their dedication and often lonely road is beset with difficulties unlike those of any other career but their contribution to the spiritual and cultural life of my family and society in general is immeasurable. Without them, our lives would be barren indeed. I support Sestinas and others like them because they give life meaning and long may they do so.
